Owens has been on the free agent list ever since he was cut by the Buffalo Bills back in March. He is also talking with the Cincinnati Bengals as well.
The Rams currently have a very young receiving team, so Steven Jackson the experience that Owens could bring to the line up could help the offense overall. The Rams are also debuting rookie Sam Bradford, so having an experienced player could give Bradford more confidence, and more options if the young receivers aren't producing.
A lot depends on how well rookie quarterback Sam Bradford makes the transition Chris Long to becoming an NFL quarterback, but I believe he is the real deal.
What may be more important to the Rams jerseys success will be the team's defense, which ranked 25th or worse in every major defensive statistical category.
I like the additions St. Louis made to their defense in free agency and really respect the defensive mind of head coach Steve Spagnuolo.
The Rams added linebackers Na'il Diggs and Bobby Carpenter along with defensive tackles Chris Hovan and Fred Robbins and safety Kevin Payne in free agency and used five of its final six draft picks on defensive players, so I think it's possible St. Louis could very well win five or six games in 2010.
Owens has some connections with the Rams football jerseys coaching staff, but that may not end up being a factor in his decision. Owens has been looking for a team for a while so he may jump at the first contract he receives. The Bengals have been looking at Owens to possibly give Palmer another great receiver alongside Ochocinco.
